The Hardships of Looking for a Right Contractor

When we had a need to make our website, we had to go through a large number of companies that left us, to put it mildly, unimpressed.

In one of the largest web design studios, no one was answering the phone and emails. Apparently, they had too many customers, but I decided to check and send a message to the head of the company on LinkedIn, and it turned out that their phone and email were not working for several days, and they did not even know anything about it.

Several other companies immediately gave us a designer to talk to. This approach does not work: the sales manager should communicate with the customer at this stage, and not the technical specialist.

Ultimately, we found a company whose approach really struck me. From the very first conversation with the manager, I realized that they have a well-functioning, well-developed and competently built mechanism of work. A living person was talking to me, who, even before calling me, looked up who we were, what we were doing, and even studied our competitors. This is a very rare thing. In addition, he did a very competent job as a seller, carefully taking from me all the money that we were ready to give for the development of the website, and he made me feel very comfortable about it!

After agreeing on all the details, we were introduced to the work of different specialists: account manager, project manager, designer, and chief designer. Their work was also built very competently, and once again I was convinced how well the roles, actions, and mechanisms of interaction in the project management of this company are distributed. After the work was done, they competently wrote out our case study on their website: for whom, for what and what exactly has been done.

The website has been ready for a long time now, but they didn’t forget about us: they send emails to us, ask for feedback, offer some additional features, and this feels so nice. By the way, not a single company we tried to order a website from, has ever tried to contact us.

This example turned out to be very useful and inspiring for us: we are gradually introducing new features into the project management process in our organization as well.
