Employees with a scientific degree

Our team consists of very different employees, including specialists with a scientific degree. These people are mathematicians who are mainly engaged in analytics and coding. Being a Ph.D. is an indicator that a specialist has gone far enough in his field. Accordingly, the presence of specialists with a degree in the team is an indicator that the company is committed to reaching the maximum quality of its services.

Why do we need people with a degree? The development of mathematical models is a rather specific area where many things need to be taken into account and where complex mathematical calculations are inevitable. Our specialists solve complex problems that require a very deep understanding of the topic. They mostly work on developing models for machine vision and video stream optimization.

While working with such people, I’ve realized that we should have a special approach to them, and there must be an understanding that their work can be practically intangible. For example, they can develop a certain model, but it takes time to put it into practice. Fundamental mathematics in theory, especially for analytics and neural networks, currently outruns practice by 40–50 years.

Now we are witnessing a boom in neural networks. A huge number of companies deal with neural networks, and it is becoming difficult to get ahead in this area. Our competitors can demonstrate the capabilities of neural networks for face recognition using full HD cameras, which is great in general, but it causes a certain problem. In practice, customers use simpler cameras, and, accordingly, get a completely different image quality. That’s why we’ve developed a technology that works with the cameras, which in most cases will be used by real customers. It doesn’t just help customers to see what exactly do they get, it also allows them to use modern technologies without upgrading their equipment.

Where a team of regular programmers can create a high-quality solution, where one camera will require one video card, our specialists with a scientific degree will find a way to optimize the density of the equipment used. Of course, you can always hire regular programmers who can reproduce someone else’s models, but they won’t be able to understand the whole complexity of it or to develop their own, more complete model.

Thus, the involvement of specialists with a scientific degree gives a competitive advantage and allows us to go forward where others are still standing still.
